At a special screening of the film on Tuesday, May 6, held at the AMC Lincoln Square Theater in New York City, the actor revealed he performed his own stunts in the movie, but it wasn't always easy.
Hartnett, 46, tells PEOPLE, "I was bruised from head to toe. Yeah, head to toe. I mean, it feels good to be able to really throw yourself into something physically and have it turn out the way that this has turned out. It makes it all worth it."
