Grand Prix Ball: A touch of Hollywood

Large station at the official gala of the Malaysian GP. Around 70,000 euros for research into heart disease.
Half the Formula 1 streamed into the elegant Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur: The organizers of the Malaysia GP had asked for the Grand Prix Ball. The event reportedly cost more than a million euros, as it was also in the budget in it, to let fly a touch Hollywood - in the form of "Desperate Housewife" Teri Hatcher and Josh Hartnett ("Pearl Harbor").

The guests were asked to appear in evening dress (ladies) or tuxedo (men). Most of the drivers appeared in team shirts and jeans on (they had to get permission), the Ferrari driver, however, had the class to slip into a suit.

Also in the audience: Kimora Lee Simmons, an American fashion model with Asian roots and ten times grammy winner Kenneth Brian "Babyface" Edmonds, who entertained the guests with some rhythm and blues. Also spotted: Ralph Johnson (from the incomparable "Earth Wind & Fire"), FIA President Jean Todt and his life-fiancee, the Malaysian actress Michelle Yeoh. The national newspapers report the way that will finally married this fall.

For a foundation for research into heart disease money was raised - under the hammer came numerous racing memorabilia such as a cap and racing shoes from Melbourne champion Kimi Raikkonen, gloves Felipe Massa (the Majestic liked it so much that he booked on actually Hotel moved here), a visor from the helmet Adrian Sutil and more. Total came as around 70,000 euros together for a good cause.
