DARK STAR HOLLOW : JOSH HARTNETT'S NEW MOVIE

According to IMDb, Josh Hartnett is attached to a horror film entitled Dark Star Hollow. There is not information yet. But the film seems to be a screen adaptation of the novel by Matthew J. Fougerousse.

Fougerousse's book sumarry
September 15, 1965. Thunder rumbled softly above the quiet little town of Bright Star, which lay nestled in the valley of the great Tennessee mountains... When the storm came, it destroyed the dam of Bright Star...But it was no accident. Six-hundred and fifty-three people lost their lives in the horrible flood...That was no accident. Thirteen people survived...THAT was an accident. For forty years, the town of Bright Star lay hidden underneath the murky waters of Lake Natas... An unspeakable evil stood guard over the town from the hills above...Waiting. David Sinclair has been given a second chance to finish what he started forty years ago... He's more frightening than Freddy... He's stronger than Jason... He's more menacing than Michael... And he's more evil than all of them put together... David Sinclair has returned from Hell...And he's not about to go back. He has a job to do...You are his job. September 2005, a group of vacationing houseboaters take a cruise on Lake Natas for a week of relaxation and rest. They have no idea that they are embarking on a one-way cruise to Hell. The vacationers and locals quickly find themselves surrounded by the nightmares of the past, and the horrible secret of Dark Star Hollow. The locals won't talk...The police can't help...And the fate of thirteen people lay in the hands of one man who has also returned to Dark Star Hollow to avenge the lives of six-hundred fifty-three souls trapped below the evil waters of Lake Natas. Dark Star Hollow is a true tale of terror. The sense of isolation and supernatural evil are the key factors that our characters are swallowed by. It becomes a twisted carnival of paranoia and faith as the group struggles to defeatthe evil that waits for them in Dark Star Hollow...

About The Author
Matthew J. Fougerousse has been writing since the 4th grade. In the 6th grade he won the Illinois Young Authors Contest. In high school, he began acting in the school plays and musicals. His senior year, he wrote and directed the half-time show at the Homecoming Football game. Once in College, he wrote several more short stories and plays, but did not get serious about writing until he moved to Indianapolis Indiana in 1999. His first novel, Can You Do Me A Favor? was published in 2004. It was a raunchy and dark comedy that some of his family members did not care for, although many others loved it. Discouraged with the problems and feedback from his first book, Matthew almost gave up on writing, but his girlfriend Sarah encouraged him to make a comeback, which he did with Dark Star Hollow; a chilling tale of horror inspired by Matthew's first trip to Dale Hollow Lake in Tennessee. Matthew and Sarah married on May 6, 2006. It was the happiest day of their lives. They currently live near Beech Grove. Matthew is a Deputy Sheriff who works for a Security department at an Indianapolis hospital, where he has been for seven years. His wife Sarah, is a massage therapist and waitress. They have two cats; Scratchy and Stormy. Even before Dark Star Hollow was published, Matthew realized that his life-long dream of his work becoming a screenplay had already started. With the help of his writing partner Dan Griffin, he has already gathered interest from several actors, and producers whom are currently working to get Dark Star Hollow onto the big screen. Matthew and Sarah have no children as of yet, but they are very close with their families, and love their little cousins, and first nephew Nathan. Matthew's next works include a comedy screenplay, an action/adventure script, and a sequel to Dark Star Hollow.

John Carl Buechler to Take the Reins of Upcoming Film Dark Star Hollow

Who better to lead a veteran cast that includes The Highlander, 30 Days of Night hero Eben Oleson and a Canadian scream queen than John Carl Buechler, the man who helmed Friday the 13th Part 7: The New Blood, Troll and Cellar Dweller?

The director and special effects wizard returns to the captain's chair after a five-year hiatus from directing to oversee the upcoming Dark Star Hollow, a film about a man who makes a deal with the devil to save the life of his wife.

John Carl Buechler to take the Reins of Upcoming film Dark Star HollowFrom the Press Release
While best known for directing part 7 in the Friday the 13th series, Buechler's special make-up effects and other works are well known in films like Nightmare on Elm Street 4, Halloween 4 and Trancers. He is also working on a remake of his classic film, Troll, from 1986.

The cast of Dark Star Hollow includes many familiar faces, forgotten favorites and new blood:

  • Josh Hartnett plays Dan Reece, a burned out Chicago cop on vacation with his fiancé Amy, and her friends.
  • Firecracker and stuntwoman, kickboxer Lauren Mary Kim is the mischievous yet vulnerable Ashley Henderson. This little hottie is a fresh new face who packs some serious punch with each kick.
  • Old favorite Geoffery Lewis has a spot as a drunken dam foreman in the opening sequence.
  • Steel-jawed actor James Russo plays the mysterious, heroic Captain John Barteaux; the owner and guide of the massive houseboat Sarah Rose.
  • The Lord Rayden of Mortal Kombat, Christopher Lambert plays David Sinclair, the main antagonist; a soul collector anxious to complete his quota of 666 souls and regain his lost wife Noreen.
  • The return of Non; Jack O'Halloran is onboard after a break from acting to portray Jim Ross, a seemingly kind marina owner.
  • Canadian Scream Queen beauty Chelan Simmons is Tracy Hall.
  • Dawn of the Dead (remake) favorite gun-toting mama trucker Jayne Eastwood is onboard as Bev Ross, a tough, shotgun-wielding Tennessee gal.
  • Jason Voorhees portrayer Kane Hodder appears in a cameo as Fisherman Jack. Kane and John Carl worked together on Friday the 13th Part 7, as well as the Hatchet series.
  • Karate Kid Bad Boy Mike Barnes (aka Sean Kanan) plays a kindly first mate onboard the Sarah Rose houseboat.
  • Canadian stud Kyle Schmid is the obnoxious Tyler, Ashley's boyfriend. You just know he's gonna bite it before it's over.

Look for more on this one soon.

Furthermore, author Matthew J. Fougerousse wrote on his IMDb board that he "wrote about 30 percent of the script (for the film)" and that "Dan Griffin and him have a couple of directors in mind including Wes Craven."

All movies start by a phase of development. It costs a lot of money to make a movie. Keep the faith.
