Josh Hartnett has landed on The Rock. His new Netflix miniseries, in which he'll play a fisherman protecting his Newfoundland fishing village from a ravenous sea monster, is now in production in Atlantic Canada. The series, which is still untitled, has added four new cast members. Netflix also shared a first look at Hartnett in costume on location with the series' cast and crew.
Hartnett will star as a rough-and-tumble veteran fisherman who's called into action when a monstrous sea creature threatens his hometown; he'll also have to deal with his vanishing way of life, as the modern world comes for his lifestyle and his livelihood. The series will also star Mackenzie Davis (Halt and Catch Fire) and Charlie Heaton (Stranger Things) in unspecified roles, and has now added four more cast members: Willow Kean (The King Tide), Ruby Stokes (Bridgerton), Rohan Campbell (Halloween Ends) and Kaleb Horn (Revival). The series will be created, showrun, and executive produced by Canadian writer Jesse McKeown, a veteran of The Umbrella Academy, The Romeo Section, and Letterkenny. The as-yet untitled project will be a six-episode miniseries.
Josh Hartnett's Netflix sea monster project is now in production; no title or release date has yet been announced. Stay tuned to Collider for future updates.
