Penny Dreadful was created by three-time Oscar nominee John Logan who co-wrote Gladiator and wrote the screenplay for The Aviator, starring Leonardo Di Caprio.

On the set of Penny Dreadful. Amazing how they vanish the modern street furniture. The man in the long coat on far right in last photo is Josh Hartnett.

In the middle of shooting the series in Dublin

How you say !!! It all started on 02 February, we were walking through the streets of Dublin to join the Guinness Storehouse (I will speak to you in another article because it is still iconic), we do not really were following the plan to find out what the different lanes had to deliver us. The surprise was big, huge, gigantic when we got to the "Dublin Castle"!

In an instant we were propelled in the nineteenth century, in full English Industrial Revolution. But where do we find exactly? Against the backdrop of the US-British series Penny Dreadful. Eva Green, Josh Hartnett, Timothy Dalton is it about you? This series created by John Logan takes place in Victorian England (London, 1891). An old explorer considerable wealth (Timothy Dalton aka Sir Malcom) searches for his missing daughter. He will join forces with a young woman with extraordinary powers and hypnotic (Eva Green aka Vanessa Ives) and a rebellious man resembling a cowboy (Josh Hartnett aka Ethan Chandler) to fight the supernatural threat to the population.

Although I am not a fan of the series of horror-fantasy genre, I must admit that apart from the high-end cast, sets, props and costumes are stunning. What makes the "Victorian London" is a real character in the series. However, I find it a shame that the series makes us believe that the events take place in London (even if it is true for some of them) while it is mostly shot in Dublin. If you like the terrors novels, Gothic, Frankenstein, etc. this series is for you. In the meantime here are some photos I took on the set, enjoy!
