The IFP'S Independent Filmmaker Labs Showcase will present
on September 21, 2010 at Rooftop Films festival short scenes from each of the documentary and narrative feature works in progress participating in IFP's 2010 Independent Filmmaker Labs. The screening is free of charge.
Rooftop Films is known internationally as one of the most dynamic film festivals in the world. In 2010, we will screen more than 20 feature films, almost all of which are New York, U.S. or World Premieres. We'll also show over 150 short films in themed programs which have received accolades for being smart, entertaining, and filled with astonishing movies. This combination of brilliant, original programming and stunning outdoor venues makes Rooftop Films one of the best-attended film festivals in New York.
IFP's Independent Filmmaker Labs USA is the only program in the country that supports emerging independent filmmakers with projects in post production through the completion, marketing and distribution of their first feature film. The Labs are a highly immersive free mentorship program for low-budget (< $1mill) first feature films in post-production. This free, year-long mentoring fellowship supports 20 documentary and narrative projects annually, providing them with the technical, creative and strategic tools necessary to launch their films--and their careers.
The films participating in the showcase are:
Stuck Between Stations featuring
Josh Hartnett, Una Noche, Yelling To The Sky, Sahkanaga, Restless City, Pariah, Melvin, Kinyarwanda, I'm Not Me, Habibi Rasak Kharban.
